OUR PRINCIPLES AND VALUES

Licensing of oil, gas, and other surface activities, and rights of entry to the surface of Alberta lands that flow from licensing decisions, must be made legally and pursuant to due process of law. Alberta’s future depends on this.
True balance of rights between operator and landowner.

Licences and right of entry orders are issued without jurisdiction - illegally, regularly in Alberta. This must stop.

We are for oil and gas development.

We are against unsafe operations and illegal takings of surface rights (trespass) by irresponsible operators.

We believe in what our courts have stated is the underlying intent of the Surface Rights Act - for the parties to get together and resolve their differences before requesting intervention by an administrative tribunal.

The rule against collateral attack must be consistently applied - to licencing, compensation, and right of entry termination decisions - as it is for right of entry decisions.

  • We understand landowner's issues

and how to remove development barriers put up by oil companies

  • FLAWED DECISIONS

    We have set legal precedents

  • Complex Compensation Determination

We specialize in urban and retroactive compensation

  • Jurisdiction and Regulatory Matters

We focus on overlooked aspects of the complex statutory scheme

Is annual compensation a thing of the past? Not if we can help it!
